Rotimi Akinlesi
Plant Nematologist, Pathologist and Crop Protectionist

Rotimi along with his wife, Dr. Bukunola Akinlesi, founded the Less Privileged Children Encouragement Initiative (EI), an NGO that has touched the lives of well over twelve thousand less privileged children in Nigeria with over 400 volunteers. In 2018, EI received the Ogun State Teaching Service (TESCOM) Award for the Outstanding Education Supporting Organisation. In 2010, Rotimi received an award and named Naija Diamond in a project co-sponsored by Inspire Africa and Diamond Bank to recognize outstanding and exemplary Nigerians who are touching lives in their communities. He is a recipient of several awards nationally and internationally.

An alumnus of Mayflower Schools, Ikenne, Dr Akinlesi is currently the President of Mayflower Old Students Association (MOSA). He is the patron of Happy Day Widows Foundation, Nigeria Christian Corpers Fellowship (NCCF) as well as a board member of a number of organizations and schools.

Dr Rotimi Akinlesi is an experienced plant nematologist, pathologist and crop protectionist with membership in the following associations: International Association of Research Scholars and Fellows; Nigeria Society of Plant protection; Nigerian Society of Nematologists. He is currently a Deputy Director and Zonal Manager with the Ogun State Agricultural Development Programme (OGADEP). He was honoured by the Ogun State Government in 2016 as the Most Outstanding Civil Servant of the year.

Among others, he is the Lead Agriculturist of AGRIQ – private Agricultural Extension Service Provider involved in IFAD/VCDP project; a consultant to Deutsche Gesellschaft fur Internationale Zusammenarbeit(GIZ) Gmbh, a German Government Agricultural Agency on the Global Programme Innovation Centres and Clusters for Agriculture and the Food Sector in Nigeria and a Lead Supervisor on the Ogun State GIZ  Team of the Farmer Business School (FBS) and Good Agricultural Practices(GAP) project.
